Mitch’s Fish Market

Sushi, sashimi, and fish fresh…does it have to be expensive?  Hawaii is one of the best places for fresh fish and sushi. 

Good sushi can be expensive, but I don’t think it has to be be.  I grew up eating sushi and missed it when I lived in the Midwest but even living in the Kansas and Missouri, hubby and I ate sushi.  I’m not into uni or lobster and the fancy stuff. 

Kincaids Update

Things change.  The happy hour at Kincaids at Ward Warehouse (available daily from 3 p.m.) is good but it was better.

Restaurant Epic..does it live up to its name?

Restaurant Epic has been around since 2007 but sorry to say, I did not try Restaurant Epic until recently.  The Epic in the name is an acronym for Euro-Asian Pacific International Cuisine. If you read past Internet reviews, you would not know what to believe because the reviews are contradictory.  Here’s my impression.

Healthy Eating at Hale Modern Macrobiotic

Having worked as a dietitian and nutritionist for over a decade, eating healthy is not just important, but a way of life to me.  I like all kinds of food but I also realize it’s important to make good choices.  Two of my friends suggested we try Hale Modern Macrobiotic, a restaurant that serves whole grains, vegetables, soy products, and fish.  Here’s my review of our lunch today.

Yama’s Fish Market

Located in quiet Moiliili at 2332 Young Street, Yama’s Fish Market does a steady business for locals wanting fresh Hawaiian and local food.  It’s a take-away.
