First Annual Restaurant Week - November 16-22, 2008 ∧ 

The week of November 16 should be paradise for foodies. A host of restaurants (including Orchids, Le Bistro, OLA, Roy’s, The Pearl and Nobu’s Waikiki) will feature special prix fixe menus, discounts, or promotions. This is the time to try that special restaurant at reasonable prices and support the Culinary Institute of the Pacific at Diamond Head.

Harbor Court Bistro Denied Liquor License ∧ 

Patrons may now bring in their own wine when they dine at Harbor Court Bistro since the restaurant has been denied its liquor license. It should be interesting to see how this will affect the restaurant’s business.

Chef Tony Liu to give cooking demo at Ala Moana Macy's ∧ 

One of the best secrets in town is Macy’s monthly free cooking demonstration given by professional chefs. On Monday, October 6 at 5 PM, Executive Chef from New York’s Morandi restaurant, Tony Liu will give a demonstration on Level Four at the Ala Moana Demonstration Kitchen. Liu will be demonstrating Raw Squash Salad and Orecchiette with Sausage and Broccoli Rabe.

Besides getting the recipe, everyone there gets to sample what’s cooked.

Li May Tang to close Hong Kong Harbour View Restaurant ∧ 

After 13 years, Hong Kong Harbour View Seafood Restaurant will be closing its doors the end of this month. Located on the second floor of Aloha Tower Marketplace, this is Tang’s second restaurant to close, the other being Shanghai Bistro. The loss of 2 NCL ships and the economy has affected another business in Hawaii. Gift certificates will be honored until their very last day.
