Kincaids Fish Chop & Steak House, located on the second floor of the ewa end of Ward Wardhouse, is a great place to go for happy hour every day (4 -7 p.m. and after 10 p.m.) and first seating which is available Sunday to Thursday.
During happy hour selected pupus are 1/2 price. The selection of appetizers is quite lengthy and includes beer battered onion rings ($6), Kobe meat loaf sliders ($7), teriyaki tenderloin ($10), fresh oysters ($14), and a sampler consisting of garlic prawns with mashed potatoes, teriyaki tenderloin and hot crab & artichoke dip ($26). The onion rings are crispy and plentiful. I would pass on the sliders (too much bread for me). The sampler is my favorite and for $13 a bargain and enough for a light supper for one.
Drink specials are $3 and consist of draft beer, house cabernet, chardonnay, and scratch margaritas.
From Sunday to Thursday, diners can order off the First Seating menu ($20) which consists of three courses. Selected entrees include Kobe meat loaf, grilled pork chops, garlic prawns, roasted chicken dijon, or cajun fettucine.
Kincaids is on my fav list. The food there is plentiful and tasty and the service attentive. The chicken dijon is moist, tasty and delicious and the prime rib is one of the best in town. Be sure to save room for dessert too. The creme brulee and chocolate indulgence cake are highly recommended and enough to share.
Although Kincaids doesn’t take reservations for the bar, be sure to call for dinner reservations (591-2005) or be prepared to wait.
