Wagamama’s is recommended as one of the reasonable, good restaurants London. What’s my take on this?
Hubby was hungry as we had just arrived in London after having flown half the night from Dallas. Where should we eat our first meal in London? Having read Rick Steve’s book and spoken to someone at our hotel, I chose Wagamama.
Now remember, we’re from Hawaii where noodles are inexpensive and good. Ron really didn’t want to go to Wagamama but since it was relatively close to our hotel, he relented. We went to the 101A Wigmore Street location.
The menu was extensive and there was a special menu for gluten free items.
Ron had the salmon ramen for 9.25 pounds and I had the chili men, yes men, not mein (8.75 pound) which was really, really spicy (I like spicy but this was too much). The ramen noodles in London are not the ramen noodles that we have in Hawaii or Japan. My men had generous strips of chicken, onion, zucchini, bell peppers, and a Thai sweet chili sauce.
The food was plentiful, but average. I would not go back. When we left the restaurant we vowed we would not go to a Japanese or Chinese restaurant in Europe and we didn’t.
