Things happen. Normally, we go to Macaroni Grill for dinner before the rush hour. However, this time we went in the early afternoon, the day before Mother’s Day.
In my first review of Macaroni Grill, I said that the food is consistent every time. Well, sort of. Ron & I went to Macaroni Grill for a late lunch. I had a craving for their calamari which is crunchy, tasty and tender. We ordered the calamari, stuffed mushrooms and a side salad.
To our amazement, the calamari and salad came out almost immediately, even before we got our water. We ate the calamari and were disappointed not with the taste, but the fact that the calamari was not hot, but lukewarm, like it had been sitting in a warmer.
Ron says that Macaroni Grill’s lukewarm calamari is still better than most. Our waiter Kyle, stopped at our table and asked how everything was. I mentioned that the calamari was not hot. Without even a hesitation, Kyle said that he would give us another order. At this point, I had eaten almost the entire order. Well, we got another order of calamari which was brought out by one of the cooks who apologized. Talk about service.
As I said before, things happen. I don’t know why the calamari was not hot as usual. Whatever the reason, the staff at Romano’s Macaroni Grill made it right. Will I be back? You can count on it.
