Located on the corner of Waialae Avenue and Wilhemina Rise, 3660 on the Rise is the proud recipient of local and national awards. Russell Siu and his gang provide good food and service consistently.
Ron & I have been eating at 3660 for over a decade. Although we do try new things, we favor the signature dishes like the ahi katsu ($11.95) with wasabi-ginger sauce. The katsu is good by itself but with the sauce, it’s ono. The sauce is also good with the taro bread and steak.
I like appetizers for a meal. To me, appetizers are just the right portions and filled with flavor. I’ve had the 3660 Sampler Platter ($17.75) which is perfect for two or makes a great dinner for one.
For starters, I had the Seafood Stew Soup which was the soup of the day ($6.50). It was delicious, chock full of scallops and crab. The flavor was delicate and tasty. Ron ordered the ahi katsu with the sauce on the side which we kept on the table to eat with the taro bread and steak.
I ordered the roast rack of macadamia nut crust Colorado lamb ($32.50) with a cabernet mint sauce which came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The lamb (4 chops) took 20 minutes to cook but it came out perfect, tender and juicy.
Ron ordered the New York Steak Alaea ($29.95) which is pan seared with garlic and Hawaiian salt and butter. Ron likes his steak done so there is no pink. The steak was tender and cooked just the way he liked it. He was a happy camper.
