Who really does have the best hamburgers in Hawaii? How does Byron’s compare to my fave Teddy’s Bigger Burgers?
Hubby asked me if I wanted to go to dinner with some friends to Byron’s Drive-In. I told him no. It’s been awhile since I had been there but there’s got to be a reason why I wasn’t dying to return.
Last Saturday, we were running behind schedule so we decided to give Byron’s a try. The people at Byron’s are friendly and helpful. Since the seating area is out in the open, leaves from the trees are on the ground. However, the tables are clean.
Hubby ordered the mushroom burger deluxe with fries and I opted for the oyster burger. Total cost came up to $10.31. The burger was thin and not moist served on a regular hamburger bun, nothing special even though it had mushrooms. The fries were plentiful but lukewarm. The oyster burger was fair. The oyster were fried and served with coleslaw in the bun. I was expecting fried oysters with lettuce and cole slaw on the side, something like a po boy sandwich.
Byron’s has a mixed following. Some like the Chowder. If you’d like to try it for yourself, Byron’s is located on 3297 N. Nimitz Highway near the airport. Unfortunately, I’m going to pass. If you are looking for a good burger, go to Teddy’s. It may be more expensive but you get what you pay for.
