Good to Grill is a casual neighborhood restaurant located in Kapahulu at the Safeway Center at 888 Kapahulu Avenue. Parking is plentiful but may be difficult to find because this little shopping mall is busy.
First of all let me say that I frequent the Kapahulu Safeway but I would just bypass Good to Grill. However, last week I decided to stop at Good to Grill to pick up something for dinner. I chose the 8 ounce prime rib special for $9.99. The prime rib comes with choice of two sides (white or brown rice, garlic mash potatoes, fries, potato salad, or baby mixed greens with balsamic vinegrette). I chose the potato salad and greens.
The prime rib was juicy and tender however it needed more seasoning. I added salt and garlic when I got home. The potato salad was very good but not your typical potato salad and the balsamic vinegrette perfect. Portions at Good to Grill are good . The 8 oz. prime rib dinner was enough for both hubby and me.
Hubby and I also decided to eat at Good to Grill on Sunday to try more items. Hubby ordered the hamburger steak ($8.99) with potato salad and waffle fries and I ordered the misoyaki chicken ($8.99) with potato salad and baby mixed greens.
The hamburger steak came with mushroom gravy. Hubby said that the hamburger steak had a strong kiawe wood taste and he would have preferred a hamburger taste instead. He said that the food was fine.
I liked my misoyaki chicken order which came with 3 nice size pieces. The chicken was tender and tasty. I had enough food for 2 other meals.
I also ordered the caramel flan ($3.99) for dessert and it was great. The texture was perfect and the flan so rich.
I definitely recommend Good to Grill (www.goodtogrill.com). Try it I think you’ll like it. Good to Grill is open for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday only from 8 – 11:30 a.m. On Monday – Friday lunch is served from 11 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. On the weekend lunch starts at noon. Dinner is served daily from 4 p.m. If you know what you want you can call ahead to order (ph. 734-7345).
P.S. Good to Grill closed on December 1, 2014 due to financial reasons.
