Hubby and I played tourist today and visited Blow Hole and other scenic sites on the east side of Oahu. It was a beautiful, clear day. On the way home, we decided to stop by at Outback Steakhouse for lunch as Outback is now open on Sundays at 11:30 a.m.
We ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna ($11.49) appetizer and the 12 oz. wood-fire grilled ribeye dinner ($26.79). The steak came with a choice of fresh steamed broccoli, fresh seasonal mixed vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes, aussie fries, or baked potato and a signature salad or soup. We decided on the baked potato and house salad.
Out server brought the warm loaf of bread with whipped butter to our table which was very good…soft and chewy. The seared ahi was melt in your mouth delicious especially with the creamy ginger-soy sauce dressing.
The house salad was not just lettuce but full of cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, cheese, and croutons.
Our server was very attentive and helpful. She had our food split in the kitchen so our steaks could be cooked individually. Hubby likes his steak cooked well done with no pink. Although some of his steak was cooked the way hubby prefers, there were some portions that were pink. The server offered to have hubby’s steak cooked more but he declined. I ordered my steak medium and it came out just the way I like it. However, we both agreed that the steak was juicy and well-seasoned.
There was more than enough food for us even though we split one entree. We took home a third of a russet potato and about 5 ounces of steak. I enjoyed our meal at Outback. Our meal came out to $47 with tax and tip without any drinks. Sandwiches range from $9.99 – $14.99. USDA Choice grain steaks range from $14.99 – $32.99.
The Outback Steakhouse in Hawaii Kai is located at 6650 Kalanianaole Highway. Their phone number is (808) 396-7576. If you have not been to an Outback Steakhouse, try it. I think you’ll like it. The menu is extensive and food good.
