Le Cacao Bistro

If you are like me, you are always looking for a bargain. I cut coupons and I purchase Groupon deals. One of the Groupon specials I got was a deal at Le Cacao Bistro. Since Le Cacao Bistro is the sister restaurant of JJ’s I thought the food would be similar.

When I went to the restaurant I thought I could use the certificate and get the 10% off which is available Monday – Thursday. Not so according to our server. The server did not know about the 10% off either. I should have cut out the ad in the Dining Out Section.

Hubby and I chose the 3 course meal which included a salad, dessert, and  beverage. Hubby ordered the ravioli ($17.50) and I ordered the pork tenderloin ($24.95).  Hubby ordered a coke which was served from a pitcher in the cooler. The coke was flat which was to be expected. I on the other hand ordered the lemonade which was great.

The ravioli was not the typical ravioli and was a disappointment. It was deconstructed and served in a bowl and had lots of cheese. It was not what was expected. Hubby said that the taste was okay.

My tenderloin was tasteless and needed salt and more seasoning. The vegetable were a a bit crunchy.

Dessert was the best part. Hubby ordered the framboise and I chose the chocolate pyramid to go. Both were good.

Not sure if I would return. I was not impressed with the menu or the taste of the food. Like its sister restaurant, Le Cacao allows you to BYOB. Le Cacao it is located at 3441 Waialae Avenue. Parking is available in the back of the restaurant on Waialae Avenue.

P.S. The restaurant is now closed.
