zpizza

Pizza! Pizza! Pizza! That’s one of hubby’s favorite foods. Unfortunately, pizza is not usually healthy. A possible healthy alternative is zpizza. zpizza started in Laguna Beach, California and uses natural or certified ingredients. It even offers gluten-free pizza crust so hubby & I decided to have dinner at the Ward Street location.

We parked in the structure but should have parked across the street from the restaurant. It would have been a shorter walk.

You can get slices of pepperoni, cheese, and Italian wheat crust pizza for $3.50 a slice. However, you don’t know how long the pizza has been in the warmer.

Gluten-free pizza is only available in a small crust for an additional charge ($3). We decided to build our own pizza with organic tomato sauce, feta cheese, Italian sausage, pepperoni, and fresh basil ($16.70). The pizza was quite good. Hubby was quite impressed with crust. It’s not the same as a wheat crust but the texture was quite acceptable. Hubby did not like the feta cheese though.

zpizza is not inexpensive but you pay for quality. We would eat at zpizza again but would order different toppings. zpizza also has vegan cheese for an additional charge.

If you are gluten-intolerant, the pizza at zpizza makes a very acceptable option. zpizza in Hawaii is located at Ward Centre on Auahi Street or in Kailua at 151 Hekili Street. Be prepared to wait if you order your build your own pizza. Ours took about 20 minutes.
