On the Road… Dickey’s Barbecue Pit

While hubby & I are on vacation, we try to eat at different places that are not in Hawaii or that we haven’t tried before. We’ve driven past Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Lebanon, Missouri off Route 66 but the restaurant always looked empty and uninviting.

My in-laws had eaten at Dickey’s and thought it was pretty good so we decided to give it a try. Hubby and I shared the 2 meat plate ($9.25) and my in-laws each got a Lil’ Hoagie ($3.25/) one with Virginia ham and the other with chicken breast.

The Hoagies were full of meat and delicious according to PM & LM. Hubby and I ordered the beef brisket and pork ribs with fried okra and onion tangles for our sides. The brisket and ribs were both tender but I preferred the brisket over the ribs. The okra was good but the tangles were okay. Hubby and I prefer onion rings.

Since we ate in, we each got a free ice cream which was a nice treat. Total for four of us was under $20.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is a chain restaurant located all over the United States. The food is tasty, filling, and reasonably priced. If you see one in your neck of the woods, I recommend that you try it.
