On the Road… Marie Callender’s in Vegas

I miss Marie Callender’s. Hubby and I used to drive to the Windward side of Oahu just to eat a piece of pie at Marie Callender’s. Marie Callender’s closed all their locations in Hawaii and also three corporate locations in Las Vegas. However, the E. Sahara location which is independently owned is still open and I’m glad.

When we are in Vegas, we try to eat at the Marie Callender’s on 600 E. Sahara. Granted the restaurant is not on the strip so you have to have a car.

Hubby and I went to Marie Callender’s for dinner. I had the rigatoni combo special ($10.99) which included the rigatoni with a meat marinara sauce, caesar salad, and a piece of pie. Hubby ordered the roast vegetable salad with blackened chicken ($9.99).

The meal came with cornbread and butter too. The rigatoni was full of meat and plentiful, reasonable, and delicious. Hubby ordered the salad because he thought the salad would not be filling. Wrong. The portions were so generous that we took home some of the chicken. Henry, our server, was attentive and friendly. He even gave me some foil to take home the chicken. Service with a smile.

Marie Callender’s is not fancy but sometimes, you just want comfort food and a good piece of pie. Try it, I think you might like it.
