IHOP

Hubby decided to treat me to breakfast on Saturday morning. We went to Kaila’s at the Market City Shopping Center but the line was out the door with at least 20 people in line.

Since we did not want to wait, we opted to go to IHOP fka International House of Pancakes in Waikiki. We chose the location at the Waikiki Malia at 2211 Kuhio Avenue. There were people ahead of us but our wait was about 10 minutes.

IHOP had 7 different combo specials for $8 from which we chose. Hubby and I each ordered the crepe combo which came with 2 eggs, 2 bacon or sausage, hash browns, and 2 crepes with either strawberries, blueberries or cinnamon apples.

It has been years since we’ve been to an IHOP. The food was just okay, nothing special. However, there was just too much food. Hubby said that we should have shared one combo. Also, the bacon should have been cooked more. I actually requested a bacon and a sausage and sent the bacon back to the kitchen to be cooked more.

There were also senior specials but they were more expensive than the 7 for $8 current special.

IHOP is a national chain so it’s a known entity for mainland visitor so the place was quite full even at 9:45 a.m.

Would I eat at IHOP again? Probably, but would probably share something with hubby instead of ordering my own. I’m not in a rush though. Parking is available on Kuhio at a municipal parking lot.
