If you believe what you read on the T-shirts on the servers, Hooters has the best view in town and I’m not talking about the ocean. I went to Hooters for dinner on Friday night. Although, I wasn’t the only woman eating there, the number of men outnumber the women by far.
It has been awhile since I’ve eaten at Hooters. I used to like their chicken wings. RL and I ordered the onion rings ($3.50), 10 piece wings ($11.99), and Texas Melt Burger ($11.99). Suffice to say, that the food is not the reason why people go to Hooters since the food was greasy and fair. The onions were tasty but very oily. The wings tasted blah. They were better the last time I went to Hooters. The burger was a bit spicy but the hamburger was tasteless. The Texas toast was pretty good though. Portions were good.
Service was also good, friendly and attentive.
However, since I am a foodie, it will be a long time before I return to Hooters. Hooters is located at Aloha Tower Marketplace at 101 Ala Moana Boulevard. I’m not sure what will happen to Hooters since Hawaii Pacific University purchased the property. Our server said she didn’t know either. The Marketplace was pretty dead with a lot of vacant space and closed stores and it was only 6:30 p.m.
