I love the idea of tapas or small dishes. I’m not a big eater but I like to try different items and tapas gives me that opportunity. Today, CW, TC, and I went to HASR Bistro at 31 N. Pauahi for their happy hour which is from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. (Tuesday – Saturday).
I ordered a cup of onion soup ($7), warm spinach salad ($6), osso bucco ($10), and the Myer’s rum creme brulee ($8).
The food was scrumptious. The onion soup was flavorful with lots of cheese. If I could have licked the bowl, I would have. The warm spinach salad was full of mushrooms with a light dressing that was not overpowering.
The veal osso bucco came with mushroom risotto. The osso bucco was fall apart tender and so tasty. The risotto was creamy, cooked perfectly. Portions were just right for a light dinner or appetizers to hold you till dinner.
The rum creme brulee was warm and smoothe. CW especially enjoyed it. I thought it was okay. In my opinion, I’ve had better. The tapas were the stars.
I can’t wait to go back again to try something else. The food is that good.
HASR Bistro is open for lunch Monday – Saturday from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Dinner is served Tuesday – Saturday from 5 – 10 p.m. Call 533-4277 for reservations. Happy eating. HASR Bistro is a must try in my opinion.
