Driving and finding parking in San Francisco is so painful that I decided to find a restaurant in another area.
Hubby and I went to Evvia, the sister restaurant to Kokkari Estiatorio in San Francisco, located in Palo Alto. I tried to make reservations at 11:30 a.m. but the only times available were after 1:30 p.m. I asked if lunch was available at the bar and they said yes so we drove to Palo Alto and walked into the restaurant at 11:30 and sat at the bar.
Dining at Evvia was one of our best eating experiences in California. The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive.
I ordered the moussaka ($19.75) and hubby had the lamb burger ($14.75). The food was outstanding. Hubby who doesn’t usually eat or like lamb raved about his burger and said he would have another one in a minute. I tasted it and it was excellent. My moussaka was very good too.
Evvia is located at 420 Emerson Street. Free parking lots and street parking are abundant. Call (650) 326-0983 for reservations or go to opentable.com. I highly recommend this place. The guy sitting next to me had the lamb chops and they looked so good.
